JULEFEST

A Traditional Scandinavian Hygge Christmas Celebration

Traditional “Yule” celebrations began as pagan events after the midwinter solstice in Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Festivals to mark the end of the longest days of the year, they included feasts and toasts in celebration of food as a “last feast” before the famine months of January through April.

Modern celebrations, called Yulefest or Julefest, begin after the midwinter solstice, lasting 12 days from December 22nd through January 2nd.

Our Julefest incorporates many traditional Scandinavian traditions that we grew up celebrating as a tribute to our Danish history
